Service Description

ApologyOwed.ai is an AI-powered creative writing service that generates personalized written content in multiple formats including text letters (PDF), voice recordings, and songs. All outputs are fictional AI-generated content created for personal reflection and perspective-taking. They are not statements by, or endorsed by, any real person or entity.

The service is designed as a creative tool for:

• Personal journaling and reflection
• Exploring different perspectives on personal experiences
• Creative writing and self-expression
• Generating content for private personal use

Features include AI text generation (Google Generative AI), text-to-speech voice synthesis (OpenAI), and music generation (Mureka). Content is delivered via email or viewable on our website. All generated content is AI-created fiction and should be reviewed carefully before any use or sharing. You are solely responsible for how you use the generated content.

Privacy-First Data Processing

We use a privacy-first approach to data processing:

• Your submitted stories are processed in memory only
• Generated apologies are created and delivered to you
• All content is immediately and permanently deleted after delivery
• No stories, apologies, or personal content are stored on our servers
• Only minimal account information is retained for service operation

Disclaimers and Limitations

• AI-generated content may not be appropriate for all situations
• Users are responsible for reviewing and modifying content before use
• We do not guarantee the effectiveness of generated apologies
• Results may vary based on individual circumstances

Credit System and Billing

Our service operates on a credit-based system:

• Credits are purchased in advance and used to generate apologies
• Different formats (text letter/PDF, voice message, song) may require different credit amounts
• Subscriptions may be offered; subscription credits renew per the plan terms
• Promo codes/discounts may apply when available and are subject to their terms
• Credits never expire
• Used credits are non-refundable. Unused one-time credits refundable within 30 days of purchase (statutory rights unaffected)
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe; we do not store your full payment details

User Responsibilities

By using our service, you agree to:

• Use the service only for lawful purposes and in good faith
• Not generate or use content to harass, threaten, defame, impersonate, or otherwise harm others
• Not submit content that includes sensitive personal data of others without consent
• Review all generated content before sharing; you are solely responsible for outcomes
• Respect the privacy and rights of others; do not disclose confidential information
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, bypass rate limits, or misuse the service
• Comply with applicable laws, including export controls and sanctions

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Third-Party Services

We integrate trusted third-party providers to deliver the Service, including authentication (Clerk), payments (Stripe), AI text generation (Google Generative AI), text-to-speech (OpenAI), email delivery (Resend), hosting (Vercel), and music generation (Mureka). Your use of our Service may involve the processing of your data by these providers in accordance with their privacy policies.

Transactional emails (delivery/receipts) are part of the Service. Promotional emails require opt-in and include sender identification and an unsubscribe.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Apology Owed AI shall not be liable for:

• Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Outcomes resulting from the use of generated content
• Relationship or personal consequences of apologies
• Technical issues or service interruptions
• Loss of data or content

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points:

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use outputs for private reflection. No resale or public distribution that could mislead others.

• All story content is processed ephemerally and not stored
• Generated apologies are automatically deleted after delivery
• We follow privacy-first principles for data protection
• Minimal personal information is collected and secured

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
